Docket No. 52-047-ESP

Dear Administrative Judges:

As directed by the Licensing Boards Initial Scheduling Order issued December 7, 2017, (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML17341A544), the staff of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (Staff) informed the Licensing Board and the parties in NRC Staff Hearing File Update 4 and Schedule Update Information (ADAMS Accession No. ML18072A403), dated March 13, 2018, that the draft environmental impact statement (DEIS) for the Clinch River Nuclear Site would be issued in the mid-April to early-May 2018 time frame. On April 10, 2018, the Staff filed NRC Staff Hearing File Update 5 and Schedule Update Information (ADAMS Accession No. ML18100A999) informing the Licensing Board and parties that the DEIS would be published during the second half of April, 2018.

The Staff hereby informs the Licensing Board and parties that the DEIS for the Clinch River Nuclear Site will be publicly available in ADAMS this week. When the DEIS is publicly available on ADAMS, the staff will inform the Licensing Board and the parties and provide the associated ADAMS Accession Numbers. The Staff then intends to publish notice in the Federal Register of the availability of the DEIS and will inform the Licensing Board and parties when the notice is published.

Sincerely,
