COMBINED INSPECTION REPORT NOS. 50-272/98-07 AND 50-311198-07
Dear Mr. Keiser:
On July 16, 1998, the NRC completed a safety inspection of your Salem 1 and 2 nuclear
facility. The enclosed report presents the results of that inspection.
The inspectors found that the actions you took to address eighteen of the nineteen
previously identified issues were acceptable. Those issues and two additional fire
protection-related items reviewed by the NRC are closed.
Another item pertaining to
periodic verification that each control room emergency air conditioning system train has the
capability to remove the assumed heat loads, as required by the Salem Technical
Specification, could not be closed because the corrective actions were incomplete.
