- This letter is in response to a request from Mr. Carey of your staff for statistics on allegations received by the NRC concerning Salem and Hope Creek. The attached tables provide a breakdown of the allegations concerning the two sites by source category, as well as a comparison to allegations received at other operating sites for calendar years 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, and 1997. You may notice changes from statistics previously reported. The software used to count allegations has been revised to avoid "double counting" allegations that are transferred from one NRC organization to another. Additionally, the data is audited for accuracy and corrections are made as appropriate.
