As discussed in the January 13 report, PSE&G discharged less than one gallon of No. 2 fuel oil to the Delaware River. The discharge was from a secondary containment of a portable diesel generator in the area west of Salem Generating Station Unit No. 2.

As discussed in the February 27 report, PSE&G has completed an internal review of the events related to this discharge. This internal review included recommended corrective actions. The following corrective actions have been implemented:

(1) Maintenance Services inspects and documents all vendor-supplied tanks used for fuel. A master list of tanks and their locations is kept by Maintenance Services. Unused tanks are stored and locked. When refueling portable tanks, Maintenance Services inspects tanks and dikes for leakage and containment capacity, and verifies that pumps are stowed and locked properly.

(2) Maintenance Services controls distribution of temporary fuel tanks (including initiation of a key lock system for the pumps) . Maintenance Services supplies a key for each pump and the user department are held accountable by Maintenance Services for the housekeeping and security
