DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY LONG-TERM STEWARDSHIP CONFERENCE
Dear Mr. Melendez:
I am writing in response to your letter, dated April 10, 2018, inviting the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) to participate in the U.S. Department of Energys (DOEs) 2018 Long-Term Stewardship Conference in August 2018 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession Number ML18103A064). The NRC appreciates the opportunity to participate in the Conference, either by making a presentation, participating in a panel discussion, or both, as you deem appropriate. We will submit an abstract for a presentation on the NRCs role in the oversight of DOE sites under the Uranium Mill Tailings Radiation Control Act in accordance with the instructions on the Conference website.

In accordance with 10 Code of Federal Regulations 2.390 of the NRCs Agency Rules of Practice a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records component of NRCs ADAMS.
