PLANNED TEAM INSPECTIONS AT HOPE CREEK AND SALEM UNITS 1 & 2
Dear Mr. Storz:
On March 13, 1996, the NRC forwarded its plans for a Hope Creek (HC)
Integrated Performance Assessment Process CIPAPl team inspection scheduled for June 10 to 21, 1996.
Because of the regulatory impact of another planned team inspection, the HC IPAP will be deferred until the fall of 1996.
The specific dates of September 9 to 20, 1996 should be used pending further determination of potential conflicts with the Salem Unit 2 restart schedule.
The March 13 letter also identified materials needed to support the team in Enclosure 2 and a schedule to which they were to be provided in Enclosure 1.
The schedule for materials is also deferred.
In addition to the HC IPAP, the NRC is planning *to perform a team inspection to determine how well the Salem units conform to their licensing basis. This inspection is currently scheduled for May 6 to 17, 1996.
Mr. E. Kelly of our office will be the team manager, and the team will consist of three inspectors.
