REPORT PREPARATION AND SUBMISSION AS REQUIRED BY IWA-4000 AND IWA-6000,"

FOR SALEM NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION, UNITS 1 AND 2, AND HOPE CREEK GENERATING STATION (TAC NOS. M94067, M94068, AND M94069)

Dear Mr. Eliason:

By letter dated November 3, 1995, you requested approval to use American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Code Case N-532 for Salem Nuclear Generating Station, Units 1 and 2, and Hope Creek Generating Station.

The staff's safety evaluation is enclosed. It concludes that use of Code Case N-532 for Salem and Hope Creek is authorized until such time as the Code Case is published in a future revision of Regulatory Guide (RG) 1.147.

At that time, if you intend to continue to implement this Code Case, you ~re to follow all provisions in Code Case N-532 with limitations issued in RG 1.147, if any.
