NRC INSPECTION NO. 50-272/95-18; 50-311/95-18
Dear Mr. Elfason:
An announced safety inspection of the radiation control program during outage
conditions at your facility was conducted by Mr. J. Noggle of this office on
September 18-22, 1995.
The inspection was pursuant to activities authorized
by NRC License Nos. DPR-70 and DPR-75.
Discussions of our inspection findings
were held by Mr. J. Noggle with Mr. D. Tauber and other members of your staff
on September 22, 1995.
Areas reviewed during the inspection are important to health and safety and
are discussed in the enclosed inspection report. The areas reviewed included:
training and qualifications, external exposure control, internal exposure
control, and exposure reduction .
The inspection identified that overall the radiation control program elements
that were reviewed were of very good quality. Areas for improvement relative
to your "As Low As Is Reasonably Achievable" {ALARA) program are described in
the attached report.
No safety concerns or violations of regulatory
requirements were observed and no response to this letter is required.
