COMBINED INSPECTION REPORT NOS. 50-272/95-11 AND 50-311/95-11
Dear Mr. Eliason:
This letter refers to the announced inspection conducted by Mr. L. Cheung of
this office from May 11 to May 12, 1995, at Salem Generating Station, Units 1
and 2, located in Hancocks Bridge, New Jersey.
At the conclusion of the
inspection, the inspector discussed the inspection finding~ with members of
your staff, identified in the enclosed report.
This inspection was directed toward areas important to public health and
safety. Areas examined during this inspection included your corrective
actions to address previously identified issues, as de~cribed in the enclosed
inspection report. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of selective
examinations of design documents, procedures and representative records,
interviews with personnel, and observation by the inspector.
We found your corrective actions to resolve four electrical items to be
adequate.
All four items reviewed during the.inspection were closed.
The
inspector determined that management oversight in providing support to resolve
the technical issues of electrical open items was generally good, and the
engineering personnel were knowledgeable.
No response to this letter is required, and your cooperation with us in this
matter is appreciated.
