COMBINED INSPECTION REPORT NOS. 50-272/94-29 AND 50-311/94-29
Dear Mr. Eliason:
This letter refers to the announced safety inspection conducted by
Ms. C. D. Beardslee of this office from November 7-18, 1994, at Salem Nuclear
Generating Station, Units 1 and 2.
Ms. Beardslee discussed the findings of
the inspection with members of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
Areas examined during this inspection are described in the NRC Region I
Inspection Report, which is enclosed with this letter. The inspection was
directed toward inservice inspection (ISI) activities. Within these areas,
the inspection consisted of examinations of procedures and representative
records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspector.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations or deviations were
observed. Overall, the portions of the ISI program implementation that were
reviewed were good.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," a copy of
this letter and its enclosures will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
