Combined Inspection Nos. 50-272/93-05; 50-311/93-05 and 50-354/93-05
This letter refers to the safeguards inspection conducted by Mr. R. J. Albert of this office
on February 1-5, 1993, of activities authorized by NRC License Nos. DPR-70, DPR-75 and
NPF-57 and to the discussions _of our findings held with Mr. P. A. Moeller and other members
of your staff by Mr. Albert at the conclusion of the inspection.
Areas examined during this inspection are important to public health and safety and are
described in the NRC Region I inspection report which is enclosed with this letter. Within these
areas, the inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative
records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspector.
We found that your physical security program was directed foward public health and safety .
. Continued good management support of the program was evident. No safety concerns or
violations of regulatory requirements were observed in your security program. However, while
reviewing the audit program, we found two areas in your fitness-for-duty program that were
identified as having problems during the last two annual audits. The areas are supervisory
training and personnel with infrequent station access.
We consider these matters to be
unresolved pending our review during a subsequent inspection.
