SUMMARY
OF MEETING WITH PUBLIC SERVICE ELECTRIC AND GAS COMPANY (PSE&G) ON OCTOBER 23, 1991, REGARDING CURRENT LICENSING ISSUES A meeting was held at the NRC offices in Rockville, Maryland, on October 23, 1991, to discuss current licensing issues and to introduce Dr. Charles Miller, the new Director of Project Directorate I-2, Division of Reactor Projects - I/II, to the licensee's representatives. The status of amendment requests was discussed for both Hope Creek and Salem.
In addition, amendment requests being developed by PSE&G were discussed.
Previously, PSE&G had expressed an interest in integrated schedules. Marylee Slosson, Policy Development and Technical Support Branch, NRR, attended the meeting and provided the status of the program under consideration within the NRC.
PSE&G indicated a strong interest in the application of this program at Salem and Hope Creek.
PSE&G mentioned that they were not receiving generic correspondence (i.e.,
bulletins, generic letters and information notices) issued by the NRC.
This will be looked into by the Project Manager.
Other issues included a request for a meeting with the staff on the response to Generic Letter 89-10, 11 Safety Related MOV Testing and Surveillance, 11 and the timing of the submittal of the revised technical specifications for Salem 1 and 2 under the MERITS Program.
The Project Managers will look into these issues.
