Dear Mr. Beck:

WASHINGT.ON. D.C. 20555 September 10, 1991

SUBJECT:

ALLEGATION NRR-90-A-0050, LIMERICK GENERATING STATION, UNITS 1 AND 2 Thank you for your letter dated February 25, 1991, in response to our November 20, 1990 letter concerning allegations pertaining to potentially unacceptable materials being supplied to the limerick Generating Station, Unfts 1 and 2 (Allegation NRR-90-A-0050).

In our letter, we requested that you review your procurement records and determine whether the supplier in question had provided safety-related or other materials to your plant. If this supplier did provide such materials to your site, we requested that you review your audit, receipt, inspection, testing records and any other information relevant to the allegation to determine if you have identified any discrepencies or information which would support the allegation. Furthermore, if the material had been installed in important safety applications, we requested that the allegation be taken into account in determining any additional actions. The results of your investigative activities were to be submitted to the NRC.

Your response indicated that the allegation has been found to be unsubstantiated and therefore is without merit.

We find your investigation to be sufficient and have no further questions regarding this matter. Accordingly, Allegation NRR-90-A-0050 is considered closed.

We request that you retain any supporting documentation for your investigation of this allegation for a minimum of one year from the date of this letter.
