NRC BULLETIN 88-08 SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION NINTH REFUELING OUTAGE SALEM GENERATING STATION UNIT NO. 1 DOCKET NO. 50-272 Public Service Electric & Gas Company (PSE&G) hereby provides the supplemental information required by NRC Bulletin 88-08 for the Salem Unit 1 ninth refueling outage.
This is the second consecutive refueling outage during which these inspections were performed.
NDE inspections of unisolable system connections to the Reactor Coolant System, susceptible to the thermal fatigue conditions identified in Bulletin 88-08 have been completed on Salem Unit No. 1.
Inspections of insulation, hangers, high energy break area and PT and UT inspections of all welds for large bore and small bore piping did not indicate any abnormalities. _A detailed test report is being prepared to document the results of each individual inspection.
The pressurizer surge line thermal stratification concerns will be addressed in PSE&G's response to NRC Bulletin 88-11.
