RESPONSE TO PROCEDURES GENERATION PACKAGE SAFETY EVALUATION (TAC NOS. 44338/44339)

SALEM GENERATING STATION UNIT NOS. 1 AND 2 DOCKET NOS. 50-272 AND 50-311 Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G) has reviewed the specific concerns identified in the subject Safety Evaluation and offers the following response.

PSE&G forwarded the Salem PGP, including revised Author's Guide, in letters dated May 20, 1983 and December 30, 1986. The NRC issued the subject Safety Evaluation (SE), dated November 17, 1989, based on their review of those documents.

  • The Author's Guide underwent two revisions in the interim period.

The majority of the comments given in the SE were previously identified and corrected by PSE&G. Therefore, PSE&G concludes that a review of the EOPs is not necessary at this time. Those concerns not previously addressed will be completed by June 30, 1990 or appropriate justification developed and maintained on file.

Please contact us if you have any questions regarding this transmittal.

Sincerely, f}otJ!
