NUREG 0612, CONTROL OF HEAVY LOADS PHASE II REPORT SALEM GENERATING STATION UNIT NOS. l AND 2 DOCKET NOSe 50~272 and 50-311 We hereby submit 3 copies of our Phase II (nine month) Report on "Control of Heavy Loads at Nuclear Power Plants" which has been prepared by our consultant, ouadrex Corporation.
As previously identified, Cask Handling Crane longitudinal stiffeners did not meet CMAA code requirements (Liden to Varga, Supplement t0 the Six Month response, Guideline 7, Article 10.2.5, pg. 7).
A subsequent review by the crane manufacturer, Whiting Corporation, has determined that the longitudinal stiffeners are not required for the bridge girders to comply with the current CMAA #70, Rev. 83 code requirements.
With this submittal, PSE&G considers the entire program on the evaluation of heavy loads to be complete.
