Nine Mile Point Unit 1 Docket No. 50-220 DPR-63 Gentlemen:
In response to your letter of December 9,
1977 regarding Nine Mile Point Unit 1 Suppression Pool Temperature Transients, we will perform the analysis required to provide the information which you have requested.
Preliminarily, we estimate that a minimum of seven months will be required for completion of this analysis and submittal of the required information.
We require clarification from your staff on the design basis and assumptions to be used for the analysis.
For example, the bulk pool temperature of 120F in Part A.l(c) is not con-sistent with the Nine Mile Point Unit 1 Technical Specifications.
Within two weeks of this letter, we will submit all items which require clarification.
After these items are resolved, work on this analysis will begin.
