This letter refers to the routine inspection conducted by Mr. R. Winters of
this office on October 26 - 30, 1987 at the Salem Nuclear Generating
Station, Unit 1, in Hancocks Bridge, New Jersey.
Mr. Winters discussed the
results of the inspection with Mr. Zupko of your staff at the conclusion of
the inspection.
Areas examined during this inspection are described in the NRC Region I
Inspection Report which is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas,
the inspection consisted of selected examinations of procedures and
representative records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the
inspector.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were observed.
