This refers to the routine resident safety inspection by Mr. T. Kenny and.
Mrs. K. Halvey Gibson, of this office, on September 29, 1987 to November 2,
1987, at the Salem Nuclear Generating Station, Hancocks Bridge, New Jersey.
The inspection consisted of document reviews, interviews, and observation
of activities.
The findings were discussed with Mr. J. M. Zupko, Jr. of
your staff.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were identified.
This report also documents management meetings held at the NRC Region I
office on September 29 and November 3, 1987, to discuss your service water
pipe replacement program and a recent reactor head penetration leak, and
your recovery plan for electrical distribution system design uncertainties,
respectively.
