EMERGENCY RESPONSE CAPABILITY NUREG 0737, SUPPLEMENT NO. 1 SALEM GENERATING STATION UNIT NO. l DOCKET NO. 50-272 This letter is submitted to request a schedule extension for a commitment made in response to the subject NUREG.
In our letter dated April 6, 1984, we indicated that by June 20, 1984, we expected to complete implemBntation of Regulatory Guide 1.97 for Salem Generating Station, Unit No. 1.
The one item remaining to complete this implementation is installation of an area radiation monitor in the electrical penetration area.
The schedule identified in our April 6, 1984 letter assumed that the monitor would be delivered within 45 days as promised by the vendor.
As of April 17, 1984, the vendor advised us that the expected delivery date is now 60 working days.
- Thus, we now expect to receive the monitor July 17, 1984.
Allowing 30 days for installation and testing, the electrical penetration area monitor is expected to be operational by August 1 7, 198 4.
Accordingly, it is requested that the Unit No. 1 schedule for implementation of Regulatory Guide 1.97 be extended to August 17, 1984.
