Site: SALEM Emergency Class: NON EMERGENCY At approximately 0916 EDT on 3/28/2018, the partial remains of an Atlantic Sturgeon were recovered from the Salem Unit 1 Circulating Water System (CWS) Intake trash racks at the Salem Generating Station. A report was made by Environmental Licensing to the National Marine Fisheries at 1034 EDT and NJDEP Division of Fish and Wildlife at 1038 EDT concerning the Atlantic Sturgeon.
Nuclear Environmental Affairs has made a determination that this event warrants a 4 hr report to the NRC under RAL 11.8.2.a.
The licensee notified the Lower Alloways Creek Township and the NRC Resident Inspector.
