SAFETY EVALUATION REPORT FOR ENVIRONMENTAL QUALIFICATION OF SAFETY-RELATED ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT SALEM GENERATING STATION UNITS NO. 1 AND 2 DOCKET NOS. 50-272 AND 50-311 The subject SER's, transmitted by your letters of January 19 and 21, 1983 requested a detailed written response indicating the rationale and justification for protection of proprietary information from public disclosure.
As indicated in our letter dated February 1, 1983, the originators of the various documents have claimed the material as proprietary.
The reasons for such a declaration are provided in the affidavit attached to our letter of February 3, 1983, which transmitted Revision 4 of the proprietary and nonproprietary Environmental Qualification Review Report.
That affidavit set forth the basis on which the information should be withheld from public disclosure and addressed with specificity the considerations enumerated in 10 CFR 2.790(b) of the Commission's regulations.
PSE&G has contacted vendors, including Westinghouse, and has been informed that there has been no change in the status of proprietary material, and as such, the proprietary material should continue to be withheld from public disclosure.
