FORMAL SUBMITTAL OF RADIOLOGICAL EFFLUENT TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS (RETS) AND OFFSITE DOSE CALCULATION M/\\NUAL (ODCM)
On June 14-15, 1982, members of the NRC and PSE&G staffs met to discuss the proposed Radiation Effluent Technical Specifications (RETS) and Offsite Dose Calculation Manual {ODCM) for Salem Units 1 and 2.
Most outstanding issues were resolved at that meeting and during subsequent telephone discus-sions between NRC, Franklin Research Center (FRC) and PSE&G personnel.
On August 31~ 1982, you submitted to FRC a draft of the proposed Salem RETS.
FRC's review of this draft RETS found that it met the intent of NRC require-ments and only a few minor concerns remain that may be resolved after the final submittal has been made.
After several discussions with members of your staff related to the final RETS we have been advised that since no technical problem remains unresolved, the RETS will be submitted no later than November 19!) 1982.
The purpose of this letter is to document this commitment.
A draft copy of the Salem ODCM has also been received and reviewed by FRC and the comments of FRC have been transmitted back to your staff. I request that the final ODCM. be submitted no later than December 3, 1982, so that our review may be completed in a timely manner.
This schedule has been discussed with your staff. If these submittal dates cannot be met please notify me within 10 days of receipt of this letter.
