This analysis was prepared in response to staff concerns on control system failure and our request for additional information dated April 16, 1981.
We have reviev1ed the basis for your analysis and we conclude that, with reasonable assuranc"!, the events postulated in Chapter 14 of the Sal em Final Safety Anal}isis Report adequately bound the consequences of single control system 'iiailures. Unresolved Safety Issue P.-47 "Safety Implications of Control System" will address control system designs and the need for any control system modifications.
You will be provided with staff guidance which may result from the resolution of this safety issue~.
