U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION DOCKET NOS. 50-272 AND 50-311 PUBLIC SERVICE ELECTRIC AND GAS COMPANY FACILITY OPERATING LICENSES DPR-70 AND DPR-75 NO. l AND 2 UNITS SALEM GENERATING STATION Public Service Electric and Gas Company hereby submits proposed changes to Facility Operating License Nos. DPR-70 and DPR-75 for Salem Generating Station, Unit Nos. 1 and 2.

These change requests relate to Fire Barrier penetration requirements for Unit No. 1 and to Radiation Monitoring Table changes for both Units No. 1 and 2.

Ref. LCR 82-03 DESCRIPTION OF CHANGE Change the wording of section 3/4.7.11 of Salem Unit No. l Technical Specifications to read the same as section 3/4.7.11 of Salem Unit No. 2 Technical Specifications per attachments.

REASON FOR CHANGE This change will provide uniform requirements for penetration fire barriers in both Salem units.

SAFETY EVALUATION -

10CFRS0.59 No unreviewed safety question is involved in this change since the modification unifies the two Salem specifications accprding to the wording that has been approved for Unit No. 2 and the units are essentially the same in regard to fire barriers.
