Dear Mr. Chainnan:

October 28, 1981 FINANCE JOINT ECONOMIC COMMITTEE JOINT COMMITTEE ON TAXATION SEL.ECT COMMITTEE ON INTEL.L.IGENCE The Coalition for Nuclear Power Postponement in Delaware has written to me expressing concern about recent findings of generic deficiences in the type of reactor in use at the Salem, New Jersey plant and the lack of an adequate Emergency Warning System.

These conditions raise the prospect of unsafe conditions that in the event of an accident could have disastrous-effects on the people of Delaware.

I would hope that you could advise me on your Agency's efforts to correct these problems.
