NUREG-0612 CONTROL OF HEAVY LOADS NO. 1 AND 2 UNITS SALEM NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION DOCKET NO. 50-272 AND 50-311 In your December 22, 1980 letter on the above subject, you required a six and nine month response for information on "Control of Heavy Loads" at Salem Nuclear Generating Station.

In keeping with the last paragraph on page 2 of that letter, we request an extension for those submittals.

The requested extension dates are October 30, 1981 and February 26, 1982 for the six and nine month responses, respectively.

Due to the allocation of resources and the extensive amount of information requested by NUREG-0612, we find ourselves unable to provide this infor-mation in the identified time frame.

To further enable us to meet this requirement, PSE&G has employed a consultant to assist in the collection and preparation of the requested responses.
