SAFETY EVALUATION LOST TELEVISION CAMERA LENS HOUSING NO. 1 UNIT SALEM GENERATING STATION DOCKET NO. 50-272 As requested by NRC's Office of Inspection and Enforcement, attached for your review is our Evaluation of Safety Conse-quences associated with a lost television camera lens housing in the reactor coolant system for No. 1 Unit.

Based upon our review, we believe that continued operat~on of the unit prior to material recovery does not constitute an Unreviewed Safety Question, as defined in 10Cp~50.59.

Your prompt and favorable consideration of this matter to permit startup and operation of Unit No. 1 will be appreciated.
