This is to inform the Commission that a Notice of Violation and a Notice'*(Jf Propcrsed Imposition of Civil Penalties in the amount of Ninety Thousand Dollars ($90,000) will be issued to the Public Service Electric and Gas Company on or about February l~ 1981.
. This action is based on eight violations relating to deficiencies found in the radiation protection program, whi*ch were culminated by (1) the entry of two individuals into the fuel transfer tube with inadequate provisions for radiation protection; and (2) the entry of three individuals into the reactor cavity while the in-core flux thimbles were withdrawn.
A news release will be issued about the time the licensee receives the notice.
The State of New Jersey will be informed.
It should be noted that the licensee has not been specifically informed of the enforcement action.
The schedule of issuance and notification is:
