OF AUGUST 5, 1980 MEETING TO DISCUSS OPERATOR EXAMINATION RES UL TS

• on August 5, 1980, members of the NRC staff met with the applicant in Bethesda, Maryl and to discuss the above subject. Attendees at the meetimg are given in Enclosure 1.

At the meeting the applicant indicated that they were interested in determining the detailed reasons the applicants failed the operator and senior operator examinations. They requested this information so that they could improve their*

training program.

Members of the Operator Licensing Branch provided general infonmation on areas of deficiencies and explained the effect of the new criteria on the applicants, in general*.

They indicated more specific information would require permission to release the data from the applica!'r6.

The applicant indicated they would forward the required information.

The applicant briefly explained their plans for future examinations. They indicated that they would be requested exemption from some of the requirements contained in Denton's March 28, 1980 letter.
