Enclosure DEGRADED GRID VOLTAGE ANALYSIS The Salem l FSAR indicates that the 13 kV ring bus can be closed with one of the two 500-13 kV transformers out of service and the other
.supplying both Salem Units land 2.
Additional information is required to show that a degraded voltage condition does not exist in this situation.
The NRC Staff requests that further analysis be performed for the above situation and during the time period stated in the Limiting Conditions for Operation in Salem 1 Technical Specification 3.8.-i.i. This analysis should include the following considerations:
- l.
Assume the defined vmrst case, i.e., a trip of Unit LOCA at Unit 2 with minimum off-site grid voltage; and a
- 2.
Take credit for automatic load tap changes on a 500 13 kV transformer only during steady-state condition;
- 3.
Do not take credit for assumed manual load shedding;
- 4.
Assume the s'.:art of a la roe non-Cl ass IE motor and insure that the second level undervoltage relay does not drop out;
- 5.
Include systems below 480 vol'.:s into this analysis.
