SUMMARY

OF MARCH 15, 2018, PUBLIC MEETING WITH PURDUE UNIVERSITY REGARDING LICENSE AMENDMENT APPLICATION FOR AN ALL-DIGITAL INSTRUMENTATION AND CONTROL SYSTEM (CAC/DOCKET/EPID NO. A11010/05000182/L-2017-LLA-0251)

On March 15, 2018, a Category 1 public meeting and teleconference was held between the U.S.

Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff and representatives from Purdue University, at NRC Headquarters, One White Flint North, 11555 Rockville Pike, Rockville, Maryland. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the Purdue license amendment request, dated February 27 and 28, 2017 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS)

Accession Nos. ML17061A262, ML17061A264, and ML17061A265), for approval of changes to the license and technical specifications to allow an upgrade to an all-digital instrumentation and control system. The discussion centered on the recent responses dated March 2, 2018 (ADAMS Accession No. ML18061A139) to the NRC staffs request for additional information (RAI) dated November 13, 2017 (ADAMS Accession No. ML17300B451). The RAI responses were related to the quality assurance plan, configuration management control and test exception reports. As a result of the discussions, the licensee agreed to update the quality assurance plan to incorporate changes to the instrumentation and control system that are coincident with the license amendment request.

The meeting notice and agenda, dated March 5, 2018, are available in ADAMS at Accession No. ML18064A541. A list of attendees is provided as an enclosure.
