The 100% license in the amount of 3411 megawatts thermal will be issued at a later date.

Concurrent Unit: MAR 3 1 7980 Unit No. 1 of the Salem Nuclear Generating Station was issued Operating License No.

DPR-70 on August 13, 1976 for fuel loading and low power testing. Units 1 and 2 were reviewed together.

An additional review and an ACRS meeting for Unit 2 were required after the issuance of a license for Unit 1 because the plant was delayed 4 years.

~!hen the delay was announced by the applicant 3 the review for Unit 1 was complete.

The radiological safety review for an operating 1 icense for Unit 2 was resumed in January 1978 based on the applicant's projected fuel load of February 1979.

The Salem Unit 2 license had been prepared in final form when *the Three Mile Island accident occurred.

Please refer to a memo addressed to D. J. Donoghue, Director, Office of Administration, dated March 1, 1979, signed _by Roger S. Boyd, Director, OPM, concerning the operating license fee for Salem, Unit.2 and concurrent revim'ls for other second units.
