SUBJECT:
SUMMARY
OF MEETING TO DISCUSS NEAR-TERM OPERATING LICENSE REQUIREMENTS FOR SALEM UNIT 2 A meeting was held at the Salem site on February 27, 1980 with representatives of the applicant. The meeting was held at our request to discuss matters regarding our revised list of requirements, dated February 6, 1980 for near-term operating license applicants. The meeting attendees are listed in the Enclosure.

Summarx.
In the morning, we toured the Salem 3 Unit 2 plant and placed particular emphasis on where components and related instrumentation were installed to satisfy the requirements specified in (l) the -Short Term Lessons Learned Report (NUREG-0578),
and (2) the revised list of requirements, dated February 6, 1980, for near-term operating license applicants.
In the afternoon, we discussed the near-term requirements.
Detailed discussions were held in the areas of (1) check list for shift turnover, (2) requirements for an SRO in the control room, (3) Safety Engineering Group, (4) Shift Technical Advisor, and {5) emergency procedures.
He also discussed the status of the review of the non-TM! related items.
Other items covered during the meeting included (1) the management review team visit scheduled for March 5-7, 1980, (2) the control room review team visit to be held in the near future, and (3) the'Commission review of the Sequoyah application.
