SALEM NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION UNIT NO. 1 c

IMPINGEMENT MONITORING PROGRAM DOCKET NO. 50-272 The Impingement Monitoring Program reports previously submitted to you on the 20th of each month are* no longer required since the issuance of Amendment 19 to the Operating License for Salem Nuclear Generating Station Unit No. 1 (DPR-70).

This amendment has not decreased the quality of aquatic environmental monitor-ing, but instead enables PSE&G to follow the 316(b) Plan of Study required by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

The Plan of Study is directed toward evaluating environmental impact instead of routine and rigid monitoring.

Therefore, more meaningful data will be collected.

Reports will be submitted to EPA on Section 316(b) studies and the recipients listed below.

Any questions regarding this change should be directed to Mark London (201-430-8036) of the Licensing and Environment Department.
