IMPLEMENTATION OF NUREG-0578 SALEM GENERATING STATION DOCKET 50-272 December 14, 1979 This is to notify you that Salem Generating Station, Unit No. 1 will have implemented all the NRC Staff's Category A Lessons Learned items by January 1,.1980.

In relation to NUREG-0578 item: 2.1. 3. a, non-qualified valve posi-tion indicators will be installed by January 1, 1980 on the pres-surizer safety reliefs.

We presently expect delivery of qualified valve position indicators by April 1980.

If there should be any change to our meeting the January 1, 1980 schedule, we will notify you immediately.
