Brunner of this office a.nd Mr. Schneider and Mr. Martin on August 28, 1979., regarding your actions and findi_ngs pursuant to IE Bulletins 79-02 and 79-07~
With regard to the matters discussed, we understand that you will take the f o 11 owing actions:
- 1.
On Salem Unit 1, prior to achi.eving Mode 4, Hot Shutdown:
- a.
Complete a test program to verify correct installation of wall and ceiling mounted concrete anchors in safety related systems in inaccessible areas. Submit. a test program outline for testing of anchor bolts and base plates in acces~ible areas. (This testing is expected to.be completed by November 15, 1979.) Perform an evaluation detailing the basis for resumption of operation.
- b.
Provide the basis for return to service prior to completion of all the requirements o.f IE Bulletin 79-07.
- 2.
On Salem Unit 2, prior to achieving Mode 4, Hot Shutdown, provide the sta.ff with acceptable resolution of seismic supports which have design deficiencies as reported telephonically on August 9, 1979 as a 10 CFR
