APPLICATION FOR AMENDMENT NO. 7 TO NAC-MPC CERTIFICATE OF COMPLIANCE NO. 1025 - ACCEPTED FOR REVIEW
Dear Mr. Fowler:
By letter dated November 14, 2017, supplemented February 12, 2018, you submitted an application for Amendment 7to Certificate of Compliance No. 1025, for the NAC-MPC Cask System. The application requested a diminished licensing basis heat load for the MPC-LACBWR, reduced surveillance requirements in accordance with the new heat load, and addition of a new finer screen mesh for the concrete overpack. Staff conducted an acceptance review of your application. This letter acknowledges receipt of your application and informs you that the application appears to contain the necessary information to begin our review.
We have established a schedule for the review. The schedule allows for the staff to issue a request for additional information by May 25, 2018, and, if a second request for additional information is not needed, a certificate of compliance by March 2019, based on you responding to the request for additional information by the end of June 2018.
