Bordlna Manager November 20, 1997 U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission ATTN: Document Control Desk Washington, DC 20555 DOCKET 50-255 - LICENSE DPR PALISADES PLANT Licensing CONVERSION TO STANDARD TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS - REVISED SUBMITTAL DATE Consumers Energy letter dated January 22, 1997, informed the NRC Staff that we expected to submit a request to convert to Improved Standard Technical Specifications (ITS) on or before November 30, 1997. Since then we have developed all the required sections while following the guidance of NEI 96-06, Improved Technical Specification Conversion Guidance. The appropriate review of those sections is not complete. The review process will require an additional month. Therefore, as we recently informed the NRC Palisades Project Manager by telephone, we are delaying submittal of our ITS into January 1998.
In view of discussion at our November 5, 1997, meeting with the NRC Technical Specifications Branch Chief, we understand that extending our submittal date from review plans for our ITS conversion request.
