REVIEW OF PALISADES SAFEGUARDS CONTINGENCY PLAN

_This letter acknowledges receipt of your letter dated December 16, 1993, which transmitted changes identified as Revision 5 to the Palisades Safeguards Contingency Plan~submitted under the provisions of lci ~FR 50.54(p}.

We have reviewed the submitted changes and have determined that they are

• consistent with. the provisions of 10 CFR 50.54(p} *and are therefore

~cceptable, except as noted in the enclosure of this letter. For those items identified as being unacceptable under the criteria of 10 CFR 50.54(p}, the previously approved plan revision must be followed.

The items.determined to be unacceptable have been discussed with NRC Headquarters (NRR/RSGB}.

You are requested to p~ovide ~orrections to your ~afeguards contingency plan to address the issues identified in the enclosure.within two months after receipt of this letter: You may ~ubmit the changes either in accord~nce with 10 CFR 50.54(p) or 10 CFR 50.90.

The enclosure to jour letter contained Safeguards Information of a type specified ih 10 C~R 73.21 _and is being withheld from public disclosure.

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.-790 of the Commission's regulations, a copy of this letter will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
