Dear Mr. Hoffman:
In January 1990, Consumers Power Company volunteered to participate in the implementation of the Emergency Response Data System (EROS) at the Palisades Nuclear Power Station. Since that time, the efforts of your personnel in cooperation with our implementation contractor have resulted in the establishment of an EROS link at Palisades.
Palisades was one of the first facilities in the nation to establish such a link.
I have recently been informed that all operational testing of the EROS link at Palisades has been satisfactorily completed.
The EROS link at Palisades is, therefore, considered operational and should be implemented in your emergency response planning as soon as possible.
In addition, configuration control measures, as described in NUREG-1394, should be established to maintain the Palisades data base in EROS current.
At this time, I would like to recognize the efforts of Messrs. Phil Loomis, Dave Fugere, Andy Zillins and Bob Hamm.
Their assistance and cooperation throughout the implementation at Palisades was invaluable to the successful completion of the project.
