CONSUMERS POWER COMPANY CONFIRMATION RELATED TO ACTION REQUIRED BY NRC BULLETIN 89-02 (TAC NO. 74288)
By letter dated January 17, 1990, Consumers Power Company (CPCo) responded to NRC Bulletin 89-02 (July 19, 1989) related to stress corrosion cracking of high-hardness type 410 stainless steel used in Anchor Darling Model S350W swing check valves.
In that response, you stated that the requested review has been completed and it was determined that no Anchor Darling Model S350W swing check valves are used in the Palisades Plant, and furthermore, ASTM A 193 Grade 86 type 410 stainless steel is not used in valves of similar design.
Your letter constitutes confirmation that you have taken action as requested. Therefore, this action item is complete.
