SUBJECT:
SAFETY-RELATED PIPING REVERIFICATION PROGRAM (TAC NO. 75155)
The staff has reviewed your letter of January 10, 1990, which presented the details of your reverification program for safety-related piping 2-1/2 inches and larger.
The staff finds the subject program plan and schedule acceptable.
However, 152 feet of new pipe, installed during the PORV/Block Valve modification, is excluded from verification by walkdown.
Please provide, not later than April 13, 1990, your justification for this exclusion (considering that one hanger was found to be missing after the modification was completed),
or commit to including this piping in the program.
Your letter of November 21, 1989, committed to completing a root-cause analysis by March 31, 1990.
Although not specifically mentioned in the reverification program, we expect that this analysis will be completed as originally scheduled.
The reporting and/or recordkeeping requirements of this letter affect fewer than ten respondents; therefore, OMB clearance under PL 96-511 is not required.
