RESPONSE TO NRC BULLETIN 88-10, SUPPLEMENT 1 -

NONCONFORMING MOLDED-CASE CIRCUIT BREAKERS (TAC NO 71330)

NRC Bulletin 88-10, Supplement 1, Nonconforming Molded-Case Circuit Breakers, dated August 3, 1989, requires a review of the PalisadeS' response to Bulletin 88-10, dated March 22, 1989, as clarified by the Supplement.

Consumers Power Company has completed the required review with the following results.

The review of our NRC Bulletin 88-10 response to the criteria in Supplement 1, does not show a need for any further actions.

NRC Region III inspectors have reviewed and accepted the appropriateness of Palisades initial response (reference NRC Inspection Report 50-255/89017, dated July 14, 1989).

The seven positions identified in the Supplement were adequately addressed by our initial Bulletin 88-10 investigations.
