UNITED STATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION CONSUMERS POWER COMPANY DOCKET NO. 50-255 NOTICE OF WITHDRAWAL OF APPLICATION FOR AMENDMENT TO PROVISIONAL OPERATING LICENSE 7590-01 The United States Nuclear Regulatory Convnission (the Connnission) has granted the request of Consumers Power Company (the licensee) to withdraw its May 3, 1988, application for proposed amendment to Provisional Operating License No. DPR-20 for the Palisades Plant, located in Van Buren County, Michigan.
The proposed change would have modified the Palisades Plant Technical Specification applicable to refueling boron concentration. The change was requested to ensure that the reactor core would be maintained at least 5 percent subcritical during refueling operations.
The Connnission has previously issued a Notice of Consideration of Issuance of Amendment published in the FEDERAL REGISTER on November 2, 1988, (53 FR 44249).
However, by letter dated January 24, 1989, the licensee withdrew the p_roposed change.
For further details with respect to this action, see the application for amendment dated May 3, 1988, and the licensee's letter dated January 24, 1989, which withdrew the application for license amendment.
