SUBJECT:
EMERGENCY OPERATING PROCEDURE (EOP) INSPECTION This is to advise j'OU of an EOP inspection that is to be performed at the Palisades site during the weeks of July 24 and 31, 1989.
The purpose of the inspection is to verify that the EOP 1s are technically accurate; that their specified actions can be meaningfully accomplished using existing equipment, controls, and instrumentation; and that the available procedures have the usability necessary to provide the operator with an effective operating tool.
The inspection team will be led by Mr. William Johnson (RIV) and will include one or two senior reactor inspectors, two licensing examiners, a human factors specialist, and one of your resident inspectors. Please have your primary contact establish communication~ with Mr. Johnson at (501) 968-3290 in the near future to discuss the inspection and to begin planning the inspection schedule.
