& Special Projects CABLE OVERLOAD EVALUATION FEEDER CABLES TO 2400 VOLT BUSES - PALISADES PLANT (TAC NO. 67106)
Our Safety Evaluation forwarded by memo dated April 15, 1988, indicated some concern regarding possible cable degradation due to pas~ overloads on the 2400 volt feeder cables from the station power transformer to non-safeguards.Bus IE.
By letter dated May 25, 1988, Consumers Power Company responded to our concern with an analysis indicating that the cables of concern had a remaining life of 9.9 years at rated loading based on Arrhenius methodology.
- By letter dated June 10, 1988, Consumers Power Company fu*rther informed us that the cab 1 es of concern would be replaced in less than 2 years when the new switc;hyard
- transformer is installed.
Based on 'the reanalysis of the cables' re~aining life and the proposed replacement of. the-ca~les within 2 years, our concern has been satisfactorily resolved.
