PALISADES PLANT - EXEMPTION REQUEST FROK 10 CFR 50 APPENDIX J, SECTlON_III.A.6.(b)
By application dated August 22, 1986, Consumers Power Company (CPCo).requested exemption from the CILRT retest schedule tequirements of the subje~t section of Appendix J.
In support of this request, CPCo proposed a Local Leak Rate Testing Corrective Action Plan, as recommended by IE Information Notice 85...:71 dated August 22, 19~5. This Plan is included as Attachment 2 to the appli~ation.
As discussed with Bruce Burgess of ~our staff, we request that Region III review the Corrective Action Plan* and provide us with an SE which.
would form the technical basis for an exemption until* the time at which the*
next CILRT is required by Section III.D of Appendix J.
We have set a target date of December 31, 1986 for the SE *input to us to ensure meeting the retest schedule, ~eptember 1987, if the request cannot b~ granted.
