PALISADES PLANT - RESPONSE TO ITEM 1.2 OF GENERIC LETTER 83 SALEM ATWS EVENT Your submittal dated July 1, 1985 provided your response to. Item 1.2 of Generic Letter 83-28.
We have reviewed your response and find that there is no indication of data collection or recording for control rod positions.
We believe this to be a critical parameter for post-trip evaluations, especially with regard to considerations of anticipated transients without a scram (ATWS) or partial or delayed rod motion.
Please provide within 30 days of receipt of this letter a discussion of the capabilities existing or planned at Palisades Plant for retrieving data on control rod positions following a reactor trip.
This request affects only the Palisades Plant and therefore involves less than 10 respondents.
Accordingly, OMB clearance under PL 96-511 is not required.
