RENEWAL OF ADVISORY COMMITTEE ON MEDICAL ISOTOPES (ACMUI) CHARTER The Federal Advisory Committee Act requires that advisory committee charters be renewed every two years. The current ACMUI Charter expires on March 10, 2018. The attached charter updates the current charter to reference, in sect ion 2, the specific NRC legal authority to charter the committee under the Atomic Energy Act rather than the general authority provided under the Federal Advisory Committee Act; to reflect, in section 3, the name change of the cognizant division within the Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards, and to revise, in section 6, the current FTE and cost estimates for the next 2 years as recommended by the staff.
Enclosed is redline-strikeout and clean versions of draft charter. The charter was last renewed
in March of 2016.
Please provide your concurrence of the charter's renewal by Wednesday, February 28, 2018. Expedited voting is being requested to ensure charter renewal before the current expiration date.
I did not sufficiently schedule adequate time to account for staff interaction, Commission deliberation, and review by the General Services Administration. Corrective actions have been taken to ensure adequate time is provided for future advisory committee renewals.
